Network

Businesses are increasingly relying on network access: both internal and external (internet). This is a trend that won't be reversed because network access provides productivity gains thru increased collaboration and information velocity. The evolution of SaaS (Software as a Service), PaaS (Paltform as a Service), DaaS (Desktop as a Service), etc... has resulted in enormous capability gains for businesses. Often, startups are the first to benefit from such technologies as they have no legacy systems to care for, unlike larger organizations. Thus, it is important for organizations of all sizes and stages of life to stay flexible with their I.T. strategy in order to reap the benefits of relatively new, but mature, emerging technologies.

When it comes to network access, most I.T. Departments or outsourced shops will focus on bandwidth (the speed of your network access) over redundancy. The reason for this is that I.T. Departments and shops do not provide ISP (Internet Service Provider, e.g. Comcast, AT&T, TimeWarner Cable, etc...) services. They have no control over the redundancy or availability of the vendor ISP. Additionally, there use to be more limited competition, higher prices, and less riding on network access which all contributed to focusing on single vendor solutions.

However, thanks to an increasingly competitive landscape, Heraan Enterprise recommends combining different ISP vendors for true redundancy (completely independent system providers). This also provides an alternative to scaling vertically thru a single ISP's bandwidth plans by scaling horizontally combining the bandwidth between multiple providers. Thus, if one ISP experiences network downtime, the business will still have network access. This contrasts with no bandwidth and no service when single vendor solutions fail. Heraan Enterprise can help your business make sure network access is treated as a first class critical system.

Website

Before the internet, the public face of a business was the store, physical advertisements, employees, etc... And this is all still true today. However, with the evolution of the internet, there is now a new critical first impression to make: the company's website. Contact, location, product information and more are all now expected to be quickly and easily searchable online.

If your business needs help, Heraan Enterprise will design a new website from the ground up. Based on your needs, we can build a website such that it can be maintained by non-technical personnel with some training or maintain ourselves. We also setup the hosting service in your company's name so that your business maintains ultimate control. Heraan Enterprise doesn't believe in vendor lock-in. Instead, we rely on our superior customer service and business insight to keep customers.

Heraan Enterprise controls costs by always designing websites that are either easy for us or for the client to maintain. That means updates are fast, translating into savings for the client by having less paid person hours going into the website to gain the desired result.

Process:
[No Cost]
1. At no cost to you, Heraan Enterprise will learn about what your website needs are.
2. Heraan Enterprise work on a mutually agreeable plan.
[Cost]
3. Client pays the non-refundable deposit.
4. Implementation begins.
5. Website is done and the client either accepts and pays the remaining balance or rejects.
6. Website is transferred over to client as per the terms of the plan.

Rates:
Heraan Enterprise is as transparent as possible about website rates. From experience, set price deals can encourage (some clients) to continually change specifications in an attempt to gain more value. Additionally, we aren't competing with the neighbor's kid across the street who charges $10 / hour for such an important aspect of one's business. If the kid is actually an option, then go with the kid as there is no professional website designer who is going to match it or lower their rates in response. Of course, no offense intended to the neighbor's kid as he / she is either undercharging for their services or will be unable to deliver the value a business needs.

Non-refundable Deposit: $500
Hourly Rate: $100 / hour

- The deposit pays for 5 hours worth of work, which is also the minimum for a business site. If the website is completed in less than 5 hours time, then the total cost of the design of the website is $500 for the client.
- If the website takes more than 5 hours, then those paid hours are accounted for and and paid out at step 5 if the client accepts the website. A client has 20 weekdays, not including the day finished, to decide whether or not to pay the remaining balance. Once the remaining balance is paid, then the website is to go live within 10 weekdays of the client providing all necessary access to the domain name and hosting provider to enable rollout.
- Costs do not include domain name and hosting provider - which are independent services to Heraan Enterprise. Heraan Enterprise can manage such services for a fee (either set or flexible as agreed upon).

Business I.T.

Heraan Enterprise can design, implement, train and manage your business I.T. systems. From vendor relations to showing an employee how to adjust the computer volume, we offer a whole host of services. And we do so embracing modern computing trends to control costs, saving your business money.

Trends:
An IT plan is remiss if it doesn’t consider current and emerging IT trends in relation to company’s needs. Specifically, the business IT industry is in a transitionary period between BYOD (bring your own device) for laptops, tablets, and smartphones over the traditionally structured managed endpoint workstation. The dawn of a new technologically enhanced standard of living has been reached where high speed internet and computers (laptops and-or desktops), as well as quickly emerging tablets and smartphones are becoming the norm.

Companies with last generation managed endpoint workstation deployments are now paying for two sets of infrastructure, either directly or indirectly thru employee pay. What’s worse is that these infrastructures are not necessarily compatible, creating an area of unnecessary inefficiency where companies should be positioning themselves to take advantage of this new trend. Which is what startups are doing by specifically embracing BYOD as part of an IT strategy to: (1) lower and control costs, (2) boost productivity, (3) become more agile thru rapid consumer technological innovation and adoption.

This BYOD was started thru consumer technology prices dropping and technology capabilities increasing, while business IT departments stagnated causing frustration amongst users. There are still some legitimate use cases for traditional managed endpoint workstations. An example of this would be high security closed systems that are unconnected to the internet.

Heraan Enterprise seeks to embrace BYOD as a central strategy to lower business I.T. costs and increase efficiency and productivity. In fact, we believe in turning traditional CapEx (Capital Expenditures) to OpEx (Operational Expenditures) in the area of I.T. for more predictable cost scheduling. We do this by merging secured cloud SaaS that is offered at lower rates than internalization can bring thru economies of scale into your workflow. Some services we recommend internalization, others, externalizing. These suggestions will change as innovations appear on the market. The important thing is that you don't have a traditional I.T. strategy that looks at every problem like a nail requiring a hammer.

IP-PBX, VoIP, and FAX

PBX is an old technology which provides advanced phone service capabilities to companies. VoIP is a relatively new technology by comparison which provides cheap direct phone service over the internet. IP-PBX (or VoIP-PBX) can be thought of as the merging of the best of PBX with the lower cost of VoIP. Either of these services can be setup to provide FAX for your business. In the case of VoIP, cheaper FAX capabilities, and with IP-PBX, more advanced FAX handling.

What's great news for companies is that the TCO (total cost of ownership) is going down both in terms of hardware and maintenance costs if you select the right system. At the same time, capabilities are rapidly evolving to provide new flexibility for businesses. Heraan Enterprise can update your business to take advantage of this lower TCO and increasing capabilities of these new technologies.

Full-time, on-site, System Administrator

Some businesses may find that they desire a full time, on-site, system administrator who can provide:
  • System Administration: propose, design, implement, maintain, support, and train employees on new I.T. systems
  • Webmastering: design, maintain
  • Desktop Support: troubleshooting, training
  • I.T. Vendor Relations: recommend, manage, coordinate
  • Business IP-PBX: propose, implement, support
  • And more!

If so, you are always welcome to hire your assigned technician away from Heraan Enterprise. We can't think of a greater compliment than a business wishing they could internalize Heraan Enterprise's level of service.
